bio

I am a Professor of Art at Truman State University, teaching graphic design, illustration, 3D modeling, and animation.

I attended Fort Hays State University receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Kansas State University receiving a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communications.

I have worked professionally as a designer, art director, illustrator, and business owner of an advertising agency for 15 years before shifting careers into higher education.

I am I grew up on a dry-land wheat farm and cattle ranch in north-central Kansas where I unwittingly developed a love of landscape and vista. I have been endeavoring to develop artistic aesthetics and techniques in a range of media that allow me to express my attachment to the land and its inhabitants.

I have a love for traditional wet media (gouache and watercolor) as well as an interest in a wide range of digital media (3D modeling, animation, and digital painting). This website showcases my areas of visual interest.
